Carved over two thousand years ago, the Rosetta Stone preserved a single decree in three scripts—Hieroglyphic, Demotic, and Ancient Greek. Deciphering those inscriptions unlocked the oldest surviving translation in human history, and opened the door to an entire lost civilization.
